Sensitivity and acquisition speed improvements to coherent and spontaneous Raman scattering technologies support video-rate Raman imaging with single contrast and frame rates of seconds to minutes for full Raman spectral images. These advances in instrumentation and data processing make practical the provision of molecular information in biological systems that is inaccessible by conventional optical techniques.<br><br>With this symposium, we aim to highlight advances in state of the art for Raman imaging and spectral analysis and to discuss the current issues and future directions.
